The Rest of Half Term then back to Boarding Skool

"On the Mat " continued throughout the rest of the week, I did manage to get the hang of it and I am sure if there had been a prize for the best I would have got it.
At first I thought it was best to sit at the back as Maisie was complete"pants" at catching and everything bounced off her head and fell into my space, but once she got the idea that I was behind her she made more effort so I crept forward, which had the "Blond Top" in raptures telling me I had done very well.
Hey ho anything to please.

Did a bit of looking pathetic at the back door but with little impression on those inside, it was through the dog room door or nothing!!

Flora very kindly gave up her new bed to me...... well I think she did anyway I took it and very nice it was too
Its was Halloween whilst you were away so I thought I would send you a Halloween picture in case you thought you missed out!
'Disney
On Saturday Gus and Gieves came back for me and off we went back to their pile in the hills, where I am still having a great time, I do have concerns about the " House Bunny" but I have learnt that you can't take all the world problems on your shoulders some things just have to remain as they are...but you cannot say I did not try!

On Wednesday there was an inter skool cross country event, which I managed to get a sick note from Matron for, I tell you the noise and chaos that was going on here is no odds to anyone, I managed to get a picture of the competitors but I stayed in bed and the best place it was too, as you can see they were a pretty dodgy lot!

Anyway the "blond top" is off to get a suntan so I don't think I will have access to the computer until she gets back so its toodle pip for now still loads to do.

Tuesday a Day being a Common Dog

This is me and my friends Maisie and Flora on the Common "X "marks the spot where I am, Flora is down a "Bunny Burrow" and Maisie could not be photographed as she was doing a
"No 2 " !! and said it was far to embarrassing to be caught in that position.

I did take exception at being called a Common Dog, as I have a pedigree longer than Gordon Browns face is at the moment!

Anyway all is well its just that we went to the Common twice for Games and that why we were Common Dogs.

The morning was lovely very frosty and I had great fun running through the grass and getting very wet, I even came when I was called ......well sometimes!..

I did think that maybe anyone from the REAL WORLD stumbling across my blog might just wonder who "The Grey Tops" were and where they are, so I have included a photograph of them "Down Under" I do hope you all like it, I understand that they all stand on their heads there which would account for the picture being upside down.

You might think as its half term I am on a bit of a holiday but no sur eeeeeeeeee, On our walks we practice "Body Control"

"The Blond Top" makes us all walk beside her on a lead at the same speed as her............ something to do with her looking like Boadicea if we tow her along, which of course is complete rubbish as Boadicea was half her height, width and a quarter of her age!!
Any way I got " A Very Good Girl" badge because my "Body Control" was sooooooooooooo good and as you can see I got very excited!Animations - cartoon dog

Later in the day when it got dark we had tea, it came quite early which was a relief as
breakfast seems to arrive in the middle of the night..
The "Blond Top" says she is still confused by the clocks going back!! I am not really sure what that means but as the telly is full of gloom about money and recession I can only think she had not paid for the clocks and they have had to go back to the shop! Anyway yet another human mystery.

We finished the day with "Cooking" here you see me and my friends cooking by a very nice fire.

Before I go the "Blond Top" wanted me to show you a picture of her new "Ankle Biter" and his brother ( when do they put and advert in the pet shop for human ankle biters to be sold!)

So now it "Goodbye" from a frosty Blighty and a warm

The Musings of Muffin / Sleepover at Maisie and Flora's Kennel

Here I am "On the Mat" at Manor Farmhouse Goodness only knows what it means but it one goes under the table when "On the mat" is shouted pieces of bacon and other tasty morsels fly in our direction!!

Well here I am at Manor Farmhouse on a bright Monday morning in late October.
For those of you who might stumble upon this site by chance and wonder who the heck I am and that I might just be barking mad, you would of course be right.

I am a black and white Springer Spaniel and for the past three weeks and the next five weeks I am boarding away from home.

I live with my elderly humans in the fine village of Westbourne and being of a kindly nature I decided it was time the "Grey Tops" spent a bit of time in the sun. So on October 6th I packed them off to warmer climates and went to stay with Guss and Gieves at their ancestral pile in the South Down.

Lets hope that the next week will be as much fun as the last three weeks, I have had a ball with Gieves and Guss, although I still do have one unsolved mystery, and that is the "House Bunny!!

" What is she muttering about I hear you ask?.........Well this is it in a nutshell, I consider myself the best remover of "Bunnies" in this part of the world and Gieves and Guss have a "Bunny" that insists on being indoors and I have tried to chase it out, but alas I have failed because each time I try the human "Grey Top" that lives with Gieves and Guss says

Muffin "Leave the cat alone"

Now I am not saying she is wrong but in my canine opinion this is a "Bunny" with short ears and should be outside as far away as possible!! Gieves and Guss for some unknown reason seem to agree with the "Human Grey Top" but this I am sure is down to then being Pointers and loyal to their own human.

So the upshot is I have not been able to do my duty and rid the house of "Bunnies" due to it be something called a Cat!!

Oh well you can't win them all and I will continue to humour them all and leave it alone!!

Anyway back to the billet at Manor Farmhouse, Maisie and Flora also have a Grey Top ( or Blond in her case but hey ho who cares!) who is a bit handy with the scissors so.

I have had a trim.
In picture 1 you will see the before and in picture 2 you will see the after and picture 3 will show you what came off ( berludy cheek!!)

Apart from the run in with the scissors everything is pretty good here, food much the same, games good but we do cross country on the Common.

Geography much the same......
Get on Your Bed,
Outside,
On the Mat ( still have no idea about that one!)
Move etc!!

No "House Bunnies" here but then I would not have imagine for one moment Flora would have put up with that! little bit on nonsense.

Did gardening with Andrew yesterday photo included and have been in the car ( first in is the best although if I wait until last its great 'cause I can squash Flora) Quite enjoy the car ride not having to do all that creeping and ducking to keep my "Grey Top " happy is really quite a relief!!

I will add some more if my " Intrepid Grey Tops" manage to read this and leave me a comment or two. Now I have mastered the mouse! it easy.
I just wish someone had explained that the mouse is the plastic thing that I click with my paw and not something one chases and kills

( mmmmmmmmmmmmm perhaps this is a " House Mouse!!"

Bye for now Muffin
